1 August 2016 (Monday)
On this day, we went for a mangrove tour at the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park which is around 20 minutes' drive away from Tanjung Rhu. This is definitely an adventure you wouldn't want to miss!
WE FINALLY WENT FOR A TRIP TOGETHER!
It was kind of a spontaneous decision I supposed? We brought up this trip topic during one of vv's birthday, did a little bit of research for the flight prices and accommodation, quickly ran a poll among the gang, chose the dates and bought the air tickets to Langkawi around mid-April. There was a total of 13 out of 26 members of the zooohttly.

D-day!
We departed to Langkawi in 2 batches as we couldn't get the promo fare for 13 of us.

Fremantle Prison
There are 4 types of prison tours, we didn't join any because we were running late and didn't have much time :/ The public can access the outer part of the prison and also the museum (where all my photos below were taken).
Tip:
Park your vehicle at the lower parking lots (not the ones near the entrance) to get a free hour of parking! Just drive one round outside the prison and you shall find it.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden
We hopped on bus number 37 and it got us to Kings Park. The park overlooks the Swan River and it's a nice place to look at the panoramic view of Perth be it day or night. It is a really huge park located at the city, perfect place to have a picnic and spend half a day there.

2 July 2016 (Saturday)
On this day, we travelled away from the city to the north. First stop: The Pinnacles Desert. It took us around two and a half hours to drive there. It is located near the city of Cervantes. The road was really smooth to drive on and it was nice driving along the Indian Ocean Drive overlooking the Indian Ocean except for the annoying speed limits. (We lost internet connection half way lololol luckily we managed to reach our destination although we missed the turning and made an illegal u-turn)
The pinnacles are limestone formations within the Nambung National Park. I think this place is perfect to visit in the winter as opposed to summer. There's no entrance fee per head to this place but you will be charged $12 per vehicle.
Last Thursday, Li Sze, Mun Jing and I, the exintrio (hahaha don't ask me how we came out with this name) went for a short trip to Damansara to hop some cafes and take photos. It was a really short session, had to wake up at 8+ so that we could come back right before Li Sze's tutorial starts (but her lecturer didn't turn up pfffttt). So here are some photos of that day!
First Stop- Metal Box @ Empire Damansara
The interior of the cafe is dark, not very "photography-friendly", and there was someone smoking outside so we chose to sit at the table nearest to the outdoor seating.
Specialty French Toast // RM16.90
French toast coated with nestum & pan seared till golden brown, served with mixed berries coulis, diced peach, roasted pistachios & a shot of gula Melaka.
The Red Benedict // RM21.90
2 perfectly poached eggs on a bed of freshly baked croissant served with sautéed mushrooms, edamame, choice of beef bacon or turkey ham, topped with homemade hollandaise sauce & red wine glaze.
The food was just okay in our opinion, not really "must-try" dishes.
After breakfast, we took some pictures around Empire Damansara.

Surprisingly, the management does not allow photos to be taken with DSLRs. The guards literally followed us around and stopped us whenever we took out our cameras urgh. We were so fed up and left after a short while. (The architecture is really pretty we could've taken lots of nice photos sigh it was so disappointing!!)
We walked over to the Damansara Performing Arts Center which is located at one end of Empire Damansara and took some pictures at the mandatory spot. (And yea no DSLRs allowed once again but I just curi curi took some when the guard wasn't looking)
After that, we headed to Bean Brothers, a cafe that originated from Korea. It is located within the neighbourhood of Sunway Rimba Hills, along the industrial area. And of course we managed to get there thanks to Waze.
We totally fell in love with this place the moment we stepped in the cafe. After ordering, we went upstairs to have more space and privacy to ourselves, luckily there was just one girl there studying there with her earphones plugged in. She was probably peeking and judging us all the time lololol.
The entire upper floor is laid out with a round hollow in the middle where you could look down at the ground floor.
The house blend coffee is priced at RM12. Upon ordering, we were asked to choose between Black Suit (a bolder taste) and Velvet White (more of a fruity taste). We had no idea what to pick so we just ordered one each, Cappuccino in Black Suit and Mocha in Velvet White.
Other than cakes, they also do serve food although there wasn't a great variety. We ordered the sandwich, there're 3 options to choose from (and I forgot what we picked). The sandwiches are priced at RM18. The sandwich is yummy and the fries are AMAZING.

We didn't take much photos downstairs because we were rushing back. Will definitely visit this place again!
