Korea Trip Day 4 (Part 2): The Garden of Morning Calm 아침고요수목원 @ Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do

by - January 06, 2016

[Read part 1 at Petite France here.]

We left from Petite France at 3:50pm and it took us around 45 minutes to reach The Garden of Morning Calm via the Gapyeong City Bus. The journey wasn't fun at all. The roads that lead there are like those at Cameron Highlands, or maybe even worse, plus we were all standing in the bus. Anyways, everything was worth it.

The tickets pricing are as shown below, sorry for the blurness as everything was kinda in a hurry plus there was a huge crowd. We managed to get some discounts again thanks to the coupon booklet!

Korean Street Food #5: Gamja Hot Dog (감자핫도그)
This french-fry covered hot dog is pretty cool! It was really nice to eat in the cold weather as it was served hot.

Since there are no flowers at all in the winter, there'll be this Lighting Festival instead from December till March. Check out their official website for more photos and updates around the year! I AM SO GONNA COME BACK TO VISIT THIS PLACE IN EACH SEASON ASKDVSDJGLPIMKV

There's a bench directly infront of this but since my whole family was too lazy to climb up the small hill up to the green house and I was abit too shy to ask someone to help me take a picture, so I didn't manage to get a photograph with these beautiful flowers :( The only colourful flowers you get to see in the winter lulz

Look at that small river! It has turned to ice omg. Even when I ran around the place for an hour plus, with the bottle in my bag shaking all over, some ice were formed :O Guess it was really cold.

The sun sets earlier in Korea during the winter, so the lights were turned on around 5:30pm and it was all dark by 6pm. I got really hyper because I really have a thing for lights!!! Even some short strands of fairy lights can make me happy lmao imagine this whole garden with colourful lights!!!

someone help me crop myungsoo in pls HAHA jk

This tunnel of pink LED is really pretty!!!! Snapvideo-ed it but it failed to post and went missing :<

The mini zoo...?

This reminds me of Super Junior lololol the blue ocean of lights that will happen during their concerts.

I was squealing all the way and screaming internally "omo daebak" "ahh jinja yeppeuda" lmao watched too many kdramas before coming to Korea. HAHAHAHAHA

I had a hard time picking the photos because everything is just so pretty! It is quite hard to photograph lights lah tbh especially if there's a person in it. (Ok maybe it's not hard but I haven't reach that level yet) It was really, really cold and I had to take off my gloves because it's harder to snap with them on lol die die also must take photos. Hope y'all enjoyed looking through the pictures even if they're not perfect ;;;

We left the place around 15 minutes to the bus stop and there was already a long queue! Thank goodness we managed to get some seats or else it will be a dizzy journey down. We alighted the bus at Cheongpyeong terminal this round instead from where we came from and took the subway back to Dongdaemun.

We decided to have bbq for dinner YASS SAMGYUPSAL! The prices are more or less the same in different shops along the street so we just went into the one where a korean lady spoke chinese to us haha! The dinner costs us ₩25000 which is less than RM100! (and cheaper than dakgalbi smh) What a great meal to end the day :)
