The Pinnacles, Lancelin Sand Dunes, Yanchep National Park & Quinns Beach | Winter in WA

by - July 26, 2016

2 July 2016 (Saturday)

On this day, we travelled away from the city to the north. First stop: The Pinnacles Desert. It took us around two and a half hours to drive there. It is located near the city of Cervantes. The road was really smooth to drive on and it was nice driving along the Indian Ocean Drive overlooking the Indian Ocean except for the annoying speed limits. (We lost internet connection half way lololol luckily we managed to reach our destination although we missed the turning and made an illegal u-turn)

The pinnacles are limestone formations within the Nambung National Park. I think this place is perfect to visit in the winter as opposed to summer. There's no entrance fee per head to this place but you will be charged $12 per vehicle.

I look pretty cool here HAHAHAHAHA

You can either walk 1.2km around the desert or drive along the 4km one-way loop. There are parking bays along the drive so you can get down to grab some pictures ;)

Make sure to follow the trail marker to avoid getting lost!

The lookout point-

9/10 of the my photos turned out like this #thankswind

After visiting the Pinnacles Gallery and Gift Shop, we drove along the Pinnacles Drive.

After that, we drove around an hour south to our next destination, the Lancelin Sand Dunes. We rented a sandboard over there for $10.

It was really really really really really x2893459285 tiring climbing up to the top to slide down :s PLUS the sand was kinda wet and cold so the board got stuck most of the time and I didn't even manage to slide down to the very bottom for once :(

i look pretty cool here #2 HAHA

just another photo of me getting stuck but enjoying the cool smooth sand

We had our late lunch at this cafe on the way back. (The chips are real goodddddd)

Yanchep National Park wasn't in our planned itinerary but since it's located somewhere on the way back to Perth and we decided to drop by since we didn't have to pay the vehicle entrance fee again after paying at the Pinnacles already.

There are actually much more to do at the park such as caving or joining their walk trails but we didn't have the time to do so plus it was pretty late already.

We headed to one of the beaches nearby to catch the sunset, but unfortunately there were too many clouds blocking it :(
do we look alike?¿?

After that, we headed back to Fremantle for dinner and that's all for Day 2!
