25 December 2016 (Sunday)
After having our hotel buffet style breakfast (best one out of all other hotels tbh), we headed to the Hakodate Asaichi (Morning Market). You can find lots of seafood over there, and we managed to get some dried goods too. However, fruits are extremely expensive during the winter.
Tried their squid-ink ice cream, squid pau and also the crab meat pau.
(All of them tasted weird lololol)

Family shoe pic HAHA
You gotta be extremely careful even if you've bought those "non-slip shoes". The roads with melting snow are worse than when it's snowing and I saw a few people slipping from time to time.
We then traveled for 3 hours north, back to the central part of Hokkaido to the Usu district.
Before going up the mountain, we had our lunch at カフェレストラン噴火亭. Udon, tempura, rice, meat and meat...?
After that, we took the ropeway up to Mount Usu (有珠山 Usu-zan). It is an active stratovolcano that last erupted 4 times in the 20th century. Mount Usu, Lake Toya and Showa Shinzan (a volcanic lava dome, Mount Usu's creation) are categorised under 1 out of the 5 areas of Shikotsu-Tōya National Park.

After coming down the mountain, we went over to the Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch.
All of them were begging for food and btw their poop stinks
After that, we checked in our hotel at Noboribetsu.
Same kinda tatami stay, and I LOVE THEIR ONSEN OMG. There are around 4 different "pools" indoor and outdoor. The outdoor one even has a slide! The < 0 degrees above your head and 40 degrees below feeling is really great plus you won't feel suffocated. It's really cold though when you have to run naked from one pool to another haha.
