Hong Kong 5D4N (Part I)

by - January 04, 2015

I was supposed to blog about this weeks ago but coughs too lazy coughs. College life will be super hectic and if I don't finish this off, it'll never be done lololol.

14 December 2014

Arrived at Hong Kong International Airport around 8:40am, bought the Octopus card 八达通 (something like our touch-N-go but more maju than that card) and took a double-decker bus to Mong Kok 旺角 area. Passed by this Tsing Ma Bridge 青马大桥 otw there and I checked in to my first bridge on Swarm lmao cuz there's wifi on the bus!

We settled down to our "hotel" at Portland Street. It is super convenient as it's just a few minutes walk away from the Mong Kok & Yau Ma Tei MTR station. It's actually a small small flat(?) homestay kind of thing with a small room, small kitchen, small bathroom thingy cuz it's cheaper to stay in those compared to those hotels.

We didn't have any plans for the first day, so we went over to Tim Ho Wan 添好运 - Hong Kong's most famous Michelin star dimsum restaurant. The queue was pretty long and we waited for half an hour to get in. *FYI they opened a branch restaurant at the boulevard at Mid Valley City last November.

We ordered 3/4 of their 四大天王-
香滑马来糕 Steamed Egg Cake // HKD16
香煎萝卜糕 Pan Fried Triump Cake // HKD15
酥皮焗叉燒包 Baked Bun with BBQ Pork // HKD18

others-
*forgotten what type of cheecheongfun is this but it ranges from HKD19-22*
har gao // HKD26
siu mai // HKD26
*forgotten what type of rice*
*should've open it up before snapping this photo coughs*
Anyways, the whole meal costs us around HKD200 (+-MYR100) lol but it's slightly cheaper and tastes more "original" than the one in Mid Valley. The baked bun with bbq pork thing is a MUST try! It tastes wayyyyyyyyyyy too goooooddd.

Tim Ho Wan (Sham Shui Po Branch)

After lunch, we walked around Fa Yuen Street 花園街 and Tung Choi Street 通菜街 aka the Sneakers street 波鞋街 and ladies' market 女人街. Typing like this is hard ohdear

In the evening, we went to Langham Place 朗豪坊 (one of the malls in hk) to have dinner with my relatives.

They took us to this fancy fancy chinese restaurant in the mall. Some of the dishes were pretty unique and guess what? The meal costs HKD800+ (+-MYR400) wtf there were only 6 of us..........

The mall is kinda huge tbh and they have this really long escalator! It brings you up 4/5 levels up.

some xmas deco--
Day 1 ootd > Uniqlo

They called it The Spiral (levels9-12) as the levels are smaller than the bottom ones and they're interconnected by stairs instead of escalators. We definitely had fun going down level by level from the top!

Explored the Langham Place Cinema City at level 8!

The ticketing here is computerised heh so just click a few button and make your payment and in you go!
look at the ticket price ohmygod i watched Big Hero 6 for like MYR8? >_>

After exploring the mall, we headed back to our hotel room. Some random street otw back-
